Joe Lynn Montgomery age 57 of Wolfe City, Texas passed away at his home on Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born on October 19, 1958 in Bonham, Texas to Bobby Lynn and Lynda Christian Montgomery.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City and worked as a diesel engine mechanic for many years. His hobbies included carpentry, engines, cars, and rebuilding tools & equipment. Joe was often seen driving his golf cart around Wolfe City smiling and waving at everyone, wearing his trademark color bright orange.
Joe is survived by Gayla Melaun of Wolfe City, daughter Mary Jo Montgomery and Joe Robles of Ft. Worth, sons Jesse Montgomery of The Colony and Justin Montgomery of Wolfe City, two grandchildren Anthony Arizmendi and Beni Robles, sisters Lisa and Billy Ward and Lori and Tracy Latimer, aunts Karen Christian and Mary Sharp, uncle Quentin and Mary Ellen Christian, sister-in-laws Belinda Beckham and Joyce Melaun, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death is his mother Lynda Christian Harbison, father Bobby Montgomery, and both sets of grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas from 4:00 P.M. till 6:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Phil Clay and Rev. Ed Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Jesse Montgomery, Justin Montgomery, Kevin Christian, Jason Christian, Kendall Christian, Courtney Cavness, Larry Melaun, Tracy Latimer, Eddie White, Dane White, Christian White, Joe Robles and Billy Ward serving as pallbearers.
