Robert W. Martin, 84, of Wolfe City, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, at his home.
Robert was born July 7, 1938, in Gober to Robert Leslie and Amy Eva Allen Martin. He married Rosemary Burns on January 12, 1962, in Greenville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.
He was a member of the Wolfe City High School graduating class of 1958. He spent 29 years as a member of the Wolfe City Volunteer Fire Department, worked for Henington Industries for 20 years, and worked 29 years at L3 Raytheon/ E-Systems before retiring. He volunteered for the Wolfe City Rodeo for 40 years, he was a baseball coach for 16 years, and a Boy Scout leader for many years. For 45 years he was a Hunter Safety Instructor through Texas Parks and Wildlife. He was a Scottish Rite member and a 32nd degree Mason. He spent as much time as possible with family, fishing, hunting and camping, He enjoyed gardening and working outside picking up pecans. He helped his wife Rosemary with her daycare business, helping take care of many, many children of hunt county. He loved and cherished each child.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rosemary Martin, sons, Steve Martin and wife Kelly, and Jeff Martin; grandchildren, Chance Martin, Coy Martin and husband Kevin, Case Martin and wife Shannon, Blayne Martin and wife Tori and Randen Martin; great-grandchildren, Kayson Martin, Carter Martin, Emery Martin, Piper Martin, Kinsley Martin and one on the way and sister, Nelda Pack.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Alfred and Donny Martin.
The funeral will be conducted by Tim Hearn, Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. the night before at Owens Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Chance Martin, Case Martin, Coy Martin, Kevin Martin, Randen Martin, and Blayne Martin.
In the time that we got to know him, we came to a quick understanding that he was definitely a special man. We grew to love him as if he were our Pawpaw!! Prayers to the family..that became ours. We love you all!!

We may have been separated by distance but not by heart always know him by Uncle Wayne and was glad that I was able to visit with him before he passed. He was loved.
