Joe Daniel McDonald, age 76, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025, at his home. He was born January 15, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to William Andrew and Mary Alliene Minix McDonald.

He will be interred in DFW National Cemetery in Arlington, Texas on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 1:15.

Dan attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas through the eleventh grade, when he joined the United States Marine Corps as a Private First Class and served in Vietnam. He returned home and passed the GED after serving his country honorably.

Dan married Jane Tierney. He started in the construction business at Andy’s Mill. When he moved to Ohio he started his own business, Custom Interior Trim before retiring to Texas to work at McDonald Construction in Wolfe City for many years where his job was to design and build cabinets.

He is survived by his daughters: Amy Garcia and husband Omar, Kim Elkowitz and husband Brad, Tammy Johnson, Jennifer Klein and husband Stephen, and Aimee Ford. He is also survived by his brother Micah McDonald and wife Betty, and the following grandchildren, Nikolas, Nicole and husband Josh, Lauren, Sarah, Erin, Jessica, Logan and husband Josh, Jonathan, Ethan, Abigail, Madison, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, siblings, David McDonald, Jim McDonald, and Patti Flud and granddaughter Kristen Garcia.

Dan enjoyed golf, bowling and softball every time he had the opportunity. He also loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.
