February 24, 1953 –  October 15, 2012 Donald Glenn Helms of Wolfe City, passed away October 15, at the age of 59 at Homestead of Sherman. Son of Elmer Jefferson and Reba Fay Hignight Helms, he was born February 24, 1953 in Houston. He married Crystal Stroud of Wolfe City Texas on May 16, 1980. Funeral Services will be held 11:30 A.M., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Brother Monte Weaver officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Jerry Burns, Roy Jones, John Kervin, Donnie (Jimmy) Helms, Tim Cloud, Cary Mashburn, Valton Ticer, and Tommy Jones serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Owens Funeral Chapel.
Donald was a veteran of the Navy and a factory worker.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Calandra Helms, grandson Noah Criger of Greenville, his parents of Celeste, brother Jimmy Helms of Pike, sister Margaret Cloud of Celeste, Mother-in-law Verna Stroud, sisters-in-law Marcia Ticer and Marilynn Henderson and husband Butch of Leonard, brother-in-law Kirk Stroud of Lindale and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Elmer Lee Helms and sister Martha Salls.
