February 29, 1940 –  August 16, 2016 Robert Syl-Dean Davis, 76, beloved, Father and husband went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday evening Aug. 16, 2016. He was born in Commerce, Tx. To Robert Monroe and Lillian Davis. He grew up in Ladonia where he lettered in football and basketball. He graduated from Ladonia High School in 1958.
Among his many accomplishments, Syl-Dean served in the Army in the 49th Armored Division in San Antonio, Tx. His career included working at Collin’s Radio in Dallas, sold real estate, was an insurance agent, and was co-owner of Davis Ice Service. In his retirement years he was a rancher in Ladonia.

He was a Master Mason and received his 50 year pin from the Bethel Lodge #134 in Ladonia. In 2014 he was awarded “The Golden Trowel Award”, the highest honor a Mason may receive from his lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Monroe & Lillian Davis and his wife of 50 years Peggy Jean Burnett Davis.

He is survived by his sons and their wives; Robert S. Davis, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Cameron, Tx. and Bart Wesley Davis and wife Teresa of Garland, Tx. Sister, Vernell Davis Grant and husband Bill; Dear Friend Sue Burnett of Ladonia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Chapel in Wolfe City at 2:00 PM conducted by Bro. Ruben Trussell, With burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery , Masonic Graveside Rites will be conducted by Bethel Lodge #143 of Ladonia, Tx. Visitation will Be Saturday evening at the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Berry Burnett, Philip Burnett, O. N. Riley, Randy Conley, Ed Pickard and Johnny Braley.

The family will receive friends at the home in Ladonia after the Funeral Service.

Family request donations be made to the Bethel Masonic Lodge #134 in Ladonia, Tx.
