Jack Parker, age 89, passed away at his home in Greenville December 29, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 1, 1928 in Wylie, Texas, where he grew up and attended Wylie schools.
In 1951, he married his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Hays Parker. They went on to raise three children, son Randy Parker, daughter Suzann Gill and daughter Amy Hon. Jack served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Thereafter, he worked for Johnson, Inc. in Wylie for many years. He later went on to own his own clothing manufacturing business in Wolfe City. Jack spent 40 years in the clothing industry. He loved the outdoors, fishing and playing golf.
Jack is survived by his wife Mary, his children, five grandchildren including Shawn Samples, Shane Samples, Sara Tanton, Megan Ternus, and Duncan Ternus. In addition Jack had nine great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his loving dogs, Louie and Sam.
He was a member of Westview Methodist Church in Greenville.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at R. W. Owens Chapel in Wolfe City. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. with the service immediately following. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery in Pine Forest at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
