Helen Joyce Robinson died on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Born on October 12, 1931 in the Estacado community of Lubbock County, Helen was the third child of six and the first daughter born to Walter and Mirkle Surratt Parrish. She grew up in and around Wolfe City and lived most of her adult life in the Gober community. She attended Wolfe City schools and graduated in 1948.
Helen was a sweet and lovely lady who lived life with a simple elegance. As a child of the Great Depression, she had a grateful heart and never took anything for granted. She never wanted for anything as she was content and thankful for what she had. She was a Christian and loved the Lord, and she always looked for the good in others.
Friends and family will always remember her as an excellent cook and marvelous seamstress. She loved tending her garden and enjoyed serene evenings in the East Texas countryside with her beloved husband, Louie Bill. She was well read and had a keen interest in foreign culture and world affairs. Her education never ended.
Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved her family so dearly and took such good care of us all. She will be remembered as a patient, kind, and generous person. To each of us, she was so special and touched our lives with her goodness and grace.
Helen is survived by husband Louie Bill and sons Bob and wife Becky of Denison, and Bill and wife Linda of Grapevine, her grandchildren Amy, Stephanie and Cherie, and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Earlene Scoggins of Paris and Carolyn Low of Tyler. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mirkle Parrish and brothers Roy, Hariel and Charles.
