Nell Humphreys, age 97, of Dallas, Texas died on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Golden Acres Nursing Home. She was born on October 3, 1916 in Celeste, Texas to J. W. and Ebbie Jackson Parsons. She married J. R. Humphreys on May 15, 1938 in Ladonia, Texas.

Mrs., Humphreys was a homemaker and later worked for a Dallas insurance company.

She is survived by her son Joel Don Humphreys and three grandchildren: Caleb Humphreys, Quanah Humphreys and wife, Phung Humphreys, and Autumn Humphreys, two sisters Marie “Jo” Tubbs and Bonnie Peritt. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years J. R. Humphreys, son Ron Humphreys and her parents.

Graveside services will be Saturday December 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the White Rock Church of Christ, 9220 Ferguson Road in Dallas.
