Betty Jean Cross age 83 of Greenville, Texas formally of Sherman, Texas died on March 8, 2012 at the Hunt County Regional Hospital-Greenville following a short illness. She was born in Greenville on April 1, 1928 to Edna L Weddle Smith and Jessie M. Smith. She married her husband of 67 years Silas Cross Jr. on January 18, 1945 in Greenville, Texas and he survives. She retired as a cafeteria worker at Austin College in Sherman and she was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband Silas Cross Jr., daughter Christa Logsdon and granddaughter Julie Morrissey, all of Greenville; granddaughter Tammy Almuina of Sherman; great-grandchildren Drue, Devin, Chelsea and Aubrie Simmons of Denison and Erin and Zachary Morrissey of’ Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, March 12 at 2:00 P.M. at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City, Texas. Rev. Jim Gatliff of First Baptist Church of Wolfe City, Texas will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
