Billy “Bill” Eugene Thompson, 88, of Wolfe City, Tx. passed away Wednesday, January 03, 2018 in the Hunt Regional Hospital in Greenville, Tx. Mr. Thompson was born on March 10, 1929, in Waldron, Arkansas, to Clarence Thompson and Macie Dell Jeffcoat Thompson. Soon after, his family moved to Fannin County, Texas where he went to school in Allen’s Chapel and Gober. He married Mildred Joyce Warren on July 9, 1953 in Wolfe City, TX. where the couple settled. Mr. Thompson owned Thompson T.V. in Wolfe City for over 45 years, and retired as Postmaster of the Wolfe City post office. He loved playing baseball, trout fishing in Colorado and gardening. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.
Survivors are his wife of Wolfe City, two daughters, Patricia Ann Thompson of Dallas, and Linda Jean Neaville and husband Bill of Commerce, Tx., one brother, Donald Ray Thompson and wife Betty of Honey Grove, and sister-in-law Jane Thompson of Kingston, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J. T. Thompson.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6th, 2018 at the R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Bro. Tim Hearn. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 5th at the R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church’ of Wolfe City or Mt. Carmel Cemetery Association of Wolfe City.
