Deborah Kay White Wilson was born July 23, 1950, to Tom Ellis White and Thelma Loretta Woodruff White.
Debbie married Kenneth Brewer in 1968 and they had 2 daughters, Cynthia Denise and Krisha Nacole.
Debbie lived in Wolfe City most of her life. She ran Brewer’s Coiffures, and later Debbie’s Beauty Shop in Wolfe City for over 25 years. Before opening her own shop, she worked in Dallas at JC Penny in their beauty salon, and she worked in Celeste as a hairdresser before starting her business in Wolfe City.
Debbie was a long-time member of Wolfe City Assembly of God, and loved the Lord with all of her heart.
In 1979, she married Larry Hamlin and they raised Cindy and Krisha together in Wolfe City. Becky Duncan (now Parker) lived with them during her high school years as well.
Debbie’s home was always filled with love, music, games, and laughter. Her door was always open to anyone in need. She was a strong, independent woman who ran her own business and continued to raise her girls as a single mother for many years.
She later married Gary Wilson, in May of 1995. Shortly thereafter, she retired and moved to Princeton with Gary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Thomas White, sister Lena Sanders, and her daughter, Krisha.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Gary; brother Michael White and sister-in-law Elizabeth White, daughter Cindy Pevey; grandchildren, Jordan Hester, Brayden Toon, Blayne Pevey and Bailey Pevey Kinkade and son-in-law Jeremy Kinkade; great grandchildren Leyton and Landry Kinkade, and Nokona Blayne Pevey.
She met her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2024, after a long battle with dementia and other illnesses.
The family would like to thank the Visiting Nurses Association for their hospice care, and cousins Lacy Burke and Becky Parker for staying with Cindy and helping love Debbie until she went home to be with the Lord. Grandson Blayne Pevey and his girlfriend, Kate Gilbreath, who is also a nurse, were also very helpful in Debbie’s last month.
Services will be in Wolfe City at Owens Funeral Home on Thursday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Bennie Grissom officiating. The visitation will be at Owens on Wednesday, February 14 from 6 pm to 8 pm. There will be a luncheon for family at Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 11:30 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Greg White, Carlos Sanders, Darren Pevey, Gary Giles, Gene Dawson and Chad Mashburn.
