Dorman Jerome Tucker, age 62, from Wolfe City passed away at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville.  He was born to Dorman Harding and Doris Dean Slater Tucker in Paris, Texas October 8, 1958.

Jerome went to work for the Ennis Tag and Label Wolfe City Plant part time when he was still in high school.  He enjoyed the work so much that he changed his dream of being an ag teacher at a high school and decided to stay at Tag for 44 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved every aspect of agriculture, but he enjoyed cooking as much as the outdoors.  Jerome was always the life of the party.  He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.  He really enjoyed reading and learning about his family’s heritage, but most of all he was known as a loving dad, brother, uncle and friend.

Jerome graduated from Wolfe City High School and attended East Texas State University studying Agricultural Education.

He is survived by his son Cody Jerome Tucker of Wolfe City, sister Becky Echols of Cooper, nieces and nephews Charlotte Garner and husband Jason, Elizabeth Echols and husband Jody Maxwell, and Matthew Echols and wife Abbey.  He is also survived by 4 great-nieces and great-nephews: Corbin Garner, Emerson Garner, Ellie Mae Echols and Evangeline Pearl Echols.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

There will be a graveside service celebrating the life of Jerome conducted by longtime family friend, Johnny Dodson at 3:00 P. M. Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  There will be no formal visitation, but feel free to come by Owens to sign the book.
