Dortheda Wilkes Scoggins, 81, of Greenville, passed away June 6, 2019, with her family by her side.

She was born to the late George Earl Wilkes and Eva Nazee Woods Wilkes, January. 19, 1938, in Wolfe City, Texas. Dortheda graduated from Wolfe City High School in 1956.

She married Jimmy Scoggins on May 29th, 1956, and they lived in Wolfe City 35 years before relocating to Greenville. Dortheda was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters: Doris Delroye Lamm, Thelma Jean Castle, Nonnie Earlene King, and brothers: George Earl Wilkes, Jr., and Norman Ray Wilkes.  She is survived by her husband and two children: Jonathan Scoggins, of McKinney and Daphne Weatherford (Steve), of Nashville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, whom she adored, Andrew Burnes, Brandon Scoggins, Ashley Weatherford and Emily Weatherford.

Dortheda was retired from Ennis Tag and Label in Wolfe City where she worked almost 30  years.  She was a member of the Creekside Church of Christ in Greenville.

Visitation will be at Owens Funeral Home in Wolfe City, on Saturday, June 8th from 2 pm to 3 pm.  A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm at Mt. Carmel Cemetary, Wolfe City.
