Betty Jean Janish, 90, passed away February 20, 2022, at the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville.

Mrs. Janish was born October 15, 1931 to Frederick F. and Mary Teresa Buncic Strele in St. Louis, Mo.  She married Charles Kenneth Janish on November 26, 1952 in Ferguson, Mo.

Betty Jean graduated from Beaumont High School in St. Louis, Mo. She worked for McDonnell Douglas aircraft.  After leaving McDonnell Douglas she became the secretary at the elementary school her children attended followed by working as a secretary at University of Texas in Dallas.  She also worked at W. W. Cannon storage equipment in Dallas.  Betty enjoyed crocheting and keeping up with the stories on the TV news channels

Betty is survived by her daughter, Kristine Russell and husband Robert, grandsons, Brian H. Russell and Jeremy A. Russell along with nieces, Sandy Hobbs and Maryanne Frye.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her son, Kurt on January 10, 2022.

The funeral service for Mrs. Janish will be Saturday, March 5, 2022, 2:00 P. M. at Owens Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City. Visitation will be at 12:30 P. M. prior to the service.  The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Brenda Williams. Burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas March 16, 2022.
