November 5, 1926 – September 2, 2011 Howard Davis, 84, passed away Sept. 2, 2011 at his home in Wills Point.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
Visitation was Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Tyler Gooch, Tanner Gooch, Donnie Steil, Michael Carrico, Don Steil and Tommy Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Gilliam, Robert Bishop, Scott Nolan, Ed Wolverton, Edwin Patterson, Clay Stephens and Eric Kuykendall.
Davis was born in North Carolina on Nov. 5, 1926 to Mabel Cain Davis. He married Betty Harwell in Wolfe City Aug. 5, 1978.
Davis, a veteran of the United States Army, worked as a transportation supervisor at Western Electric/Alcatel-Lucent and was a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church in Wills Point.
He is survived by is wife; Betty Davis; daughter, Dawn Steil and husband Don; sons Mike and Tommy Gilliam; sister-in-law Delores McKay; grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner and Baylee Gooch, Crystal Carrico and husband Michael and Donnie Steil; great-grandchildren Skyler and Kinley Carrico and uncle Ravenell Cain.
