March 5, 1924 – October 10, 2015 Imonell Hallum Hornsby passed away Saturday, October 10th, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bailey, Texas on March 5th, 1924 to John Scott Hallum and Minnie Belle Daniel. She married John Delbert Hornsby on March 21st, 1942 in China Grove, Texas. Imonell worked for Hennington Publishing Company until she retired. Together they had two children, Charles Hornsby and Aline Speight. Imonell enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, both of Wolfe City, grandchildren; Charla Brosius and husband Tom of Lubbock, Jeff Hornsby and wife Mel of Mineola, Cherly Erwin and Jeff of Wolfe City, Lance Hornsby and wife Penny of Missouri City, and Chanda Tanner and husband Phil of Wolfe City, Texas. Great grandchildren; Cera Wrisner and husband Kasey, Colten Erwin, Jordan and Justin Brosius, Bowie and Brooke Tanner, Ali Neat and husband David, Susannah Stull, Stephanie Malone, and Josie Hornsby. Imonell was also blessed with great-great grandchildren, Baylee and Graycee Quirl and Rainey Jo Stull. She also had many nieces and nephews.
Imonell is proceeded in death by her husband, John Delbert, her parents and her beloved granddaughter Charon Malone.
Pallbearers are Phil Tanner, Jeff Hornsby, Lance Hornsby, Tom Brosius, Larry Bunch and Gregory Loftin. Honorary Pallbearers are Colten Erwin, Bowie Tanner, Jordan Brosius, Justin Brosius and Calvin Rhodes. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City, Texas at on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 with Tim Hearn officiating. Family visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be immediately after the service at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas.
