Jimmy Charles Felty, age 83, passed away in his home, Thursday, March 5, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born to Emory Newton and Margaret Davy Felty, October 10, 1936 in the Hickory Creek Community near Celeste, Texas.

Mr. Felty, also known as Coach Felty was a long time educator and cotton farmer in Hunt County.  He worked as a teacher, coach, and principal for Wolfe City ISD. Farmers work hard and he applied the farmer’s work ethic to educating his students.  He graduated from Celeste High School before enrolling and earning his Bachelor of Education degree from East Texas Teachers College.  Jimmy was also a 32nd mason of the 505 Masonic Lodge.

Jimmy married Terrie Malone, March 14, 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie of Celeste, Sons: Charles Felty and wife Kathy of Celeste, and Scott Lake and wife Brandy of Celeste, daughters: Charla Reamy and husband Chris of Celeste, Cathy Bailey and husband Brent of Kaufman and Karen Cooper and husband Chawn of Greenville. He is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren: Michael Hurley, Jana Jackson, Ashley Felty, Taylor Felty, Christen Reamy, Megan Reamy, Matthew Bailey, Logan Bailey, Amberlie Herron and husband Colt, Cheyanne Lake, Dakota Flud, Case Lake, Camber Cooper, Chawn Tre Cooper and wife Kristin, and Colt Cooper, along with his four great-grandchildren: Jake Jackson, Chandler Cooper, Cannon Herron, and Beau Claire Herron.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings, and one grandchild: Chelsea Reamy.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Owens Funeral Chapel.  The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday March 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church.  It will be officiated by Brother Tim Hearn.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Dakota Flud, Case Lake, Matthew Bailey, Colt Cooper, Chawn Cooper, and Jake Muecke.
