Johnny Lynn Pairsh, age 68, passed away at his home in Wolfe City. He was born in Wolfe City, Texas on November 17, 1955, to parents, Jim Feagan and Ruby Louise (Bishop) Pairsh.
He married Marylyn Crossland on August 29, 1973, in Windom, Texas. Together they had 3 wonderful children. Johnny joined the US Army and was an Infantry Soldier. After his time in the service, he went to East Texas University and furthered his education to a bachelor’s in education and in Ag management. Johnny was an Ag teacher for Windom ISD from 1981-1984. He later taught at Wolfe City High School where he stayed for 25 years, from 1984-2009. He also taught from 1981-1984 at Windom ISD. After retiring he worked at the Fannin County Crisis Center where he was a counselor for 8 years. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and any time at a rodeo was a good time for Johnny.
Surviving him is his loving wife, Marylyn Pairsh of Wolfe City, Texas. Children, Dawn McWilliams and her husband Jeremy, Angie Steele and her husband Steve, and Johnny “Bubba” Pairsh Jr and his wife Ami. Grandchildren include Jade Adkins, Tyler McPherson, Ava Steele, Major Steele, Johnsie Pairsh, Jolee Pairsh. Great grandchildren, Indi Wilkerson and Iliyah Wilkerson. As well as his siblings, sisters, Barbara Zolnai and Beverly Pairsh.
He is preceded by his parents, Jim Feagan and Ruby Louise (Bishop) Pairsh and one brother, Jimmy Pairsh.
Johnny will be missed dearly by all of his former students and staff.
Pallbearers for the funeral service are Adrian Wilkerson, Steve Steele, Tyler McPherson, Major Steele, Jeremy McWilliams, and Cole Salisbury.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be conducted by Bro. Tim Hearn at 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 15, 2024, at R. W. Owens and Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
