Kendel Todd Turney, 59, of Wolfe City, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, August 17th, 2025.
Kendel was a lifelong member of Wolfe City Fire Department and employed by Wolfe City Grain. Kendel enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, serving his community, and spending time with his grandkids.
Kendel is survived by his son David “Andy” Turney and wife Shalisa of Wolfe City; son Luke Wright and wife Courtney of Houston; mother Donna Turney of Wolfe City; brother Keith Turney of Wolfe City; brother Kelly Turney and wife Elisha of Wolfe City; sister Kristie Grandfield and husband Tommy of Wolfe City.
He is also survived by six grandkids Sophia, Kera, and Billy Turney of Wolfe City; Ace, Violet, and Axl Wright of Houston – and many nieces and nephews.
Kendel is preceded in death by his father Billy Turney and niece Heather Grandfield Madewell.
Kendel will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5-7:00pm at RW Owens Funeral Chapel. The Funeral service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Wolfe City. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
He will forever be missed!

I’m proud to have called Kendel my friend. Not just a friend but one of my best ones. He was always there through good and bad for me. He had a heart of gold. I have so many memories with him. We always had so much fun and laughter. And he will be remembered always! My prayers are with you all!
