Mary Janice (Christian) Sharp passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Texas at the age of 77. She was born on March 16, 1947, in Sherman, Texas to William Adris Christian & Verna Aline (Oney) Christian.

Mary graduated from Wolfe City High School in 1965, she attended East Texas State University and acquired her bachelor’s in education and 2 master’s degrees in Speech Pathology. She was the coordinator of Speech and Hearing for Mesquite ISD.

She married Dr. T.R. “Bob” Sharp on January 1, 1985, in Dallas, Texas.

She is survived by her brother Quentin Christian and his wife Mary Ellen, and sister Karen Christian. Mary was “Aunt Mary” to nieces and nephews: Kevin Christian and his wife Leigh, Kendall Christian and his wife Lisa, Jason Christian, Courtney Christian, Beverly White and her husband Eddie, Lisa Ward and her husband Billy, and Lori Latimer and her husband Tracy. Mary was affectionately known as “Grandmary” to 13 great nieces and nephews and 11 great-great nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Dr. T.R. “Bob” Sharp, parents William Adris Christian & Verna Aline (Oney) Christian, sister Lynda Harbison and her husband Jess, and nephew Joe Montgomery.

Officiating the service is Rev. Deana Lowe. Pallbearers are: Dane White, Christian White, Justin Montgomery, Jesse Montgomery, Kevin Christian, and Anthony Arizmendi. Honorary pallbearers: Eddie White, Billy Ward and Tracy Latimer.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 5-7:00 PM at RW Owens Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Chapel in Wolfe City, Texas. Burial to follow the funeral service.
