Oma Faye Herndon Proctor of Corinth, Tx. passed away April 7th , 2012.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 7th at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City under the direction of R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City.
Mrs. Proctor was born July 13th 1920 in Pecan Gap Texas to O.C. and Gladys Butler Herndon, long-time residents of Wolfe City. Oma Faye was the oldest of four children, which included brothers Kenneth, Ray and Harold Gene. She graduated Salutatorian from Wolfe City High School in 1938. Mrs. Proctor married James Archie Dorsett, a sergeant in the US Army Air Corp, from Mission Texas who passed away in 1969. In 1978, she married Paul Proctor, a jeweler from Dallas.
Mrs. Proctor worked as a bookkeeper/administrator for the U.S. Navy, Redman Industries and Lincoln Properties before retiring in the early 1980s. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel, including trips to many cities in Europe, Canada and Mexico.
Oma is survived by one son, Jim Dorsett and three grandchildren, Shannon Passon, Christine Dorsett and Carlton Dorsett.
She had a sweet disposition and will be sorely missed by one and all who came in contact with her over her lifetime.
The family invites all Oma Faye’s friends to come and celebrate her life and requests donations be made in her name to the American Red Cross.
