January 26, 1940 –  July 3, 2016 Hart,
Tony Hart 76, passed away July 3, 2016 at his home in Greenville. Tony is a 5th generation descendant of Captain John Hart who settled in Hunt County back in the 1800’s. Tony was the first child born to Gordon and Christella Wilson Hart January 29, 1940 in Greenville, Texas.

Tony attended school in Greenville and joined and served in the Navy from 1957 to 1960. He married Donice Jean McAbee November 11, 1960. Together Tony and Jean were parents to five children. Tony moved his family to Garland in 1963.

He was a carpet installer, then in wholesale carpet sales until he and Jean moved to Wolfe City in 1986. He also worked for Global Marine Drilling for 2 years as a cook on an off shore drilling rig. He had a sign hanging outside his business address in Wolfe City that read “HART ENTERPRISES ???”. Among other things he bought and sold antiques, old gas and oil company signs, had a “ham and Turkey holiday sales business. Tony was well known as a ‘horse trader and wheeler dealer” throughout his life. He had a zest and love of life and family and lived his life to the fullest as long as he could.
Tony is survived by his daughter Tammie Swafford and husband Darin of Greenville. Grandchildren, Amber and Ryan Russell, Matthew Tyler, Keri Higgins, Melanie, Ashley and Chandra Hayden, Heather Melton, Shentell and Amanda Hart, Kyle Swafford and eight great-grandchildren. His brother Michael Hart and wife Lisa Gail of Cumby, and sisters, Nancy Oliver and husband Bobby of Greenville, Lisa Martinez and husband Noe of Bastrop and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony was preceded in death by his wife, parents, children Dickie, Challa and Monette, brothers Joel and Keith.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Wolfe City Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2pm. Family will receive visitors at 1 o’clock at the church before the service.
