Services will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 10:00 am for Marie Wilkins Kinser at First Baptist Church, Commerce, Texas.
The visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 6:00-7:30 pm at R. W. Owens and Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas.
She passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Commerce. Rev. Jerry Speight, Rev. Bill Mills, and Rev. Wesley McCasland will officiate. Interment will be at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie, Texas. Pallbearers will be Grant Crowell, Carr Newkirk, Kevin Lloyd, Gary Wilkins, James Hardman, and Steve Davis. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Baber, James Hawkins, Richard Hill, and Durwood Richardson.

Mrs. Kinser was born in Commerce, Texas on May 25, 1923 to Dave and Golda Wilkins. She married R.D. “Bub” Kinser on October 1, 1938 in Commerce. A longtime resident of Commerce, she was a lifetime member of the Riley Grove Congregational Methodist Church. In addition to singing in church, she pursued her love for gospel music by forming a family music group, traveling, and making recordings.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bub Kinser, her parents Dave and Golda Wilkins, sister Joyce Wilkins Stinson, brother Lloyd Wilkins and great-granddaughter Lauren Marie Crowell.

Survivors include daughter Wanda Crowell and husband Mike of Commerce, grandchildren Donna Newkirk and husband Carr of Plano, Texas and Rhonda Lloyd and husband Kevin of Murphy, Texas and Grant Crowell and wife Regina of Commerce, Texas, five great-grandchildren – Kinser and Kacie Newkirk, Dalton and Kamie Lloyd, and Levi Crowell, and niece Betty Hardman of Plano, Texas and nephew Gary Wilkins of Blossom, Texas.
