November 27, 2012 –  May 16, 2013 Woodson,
Annie Faye Woodson, age 100 of Gober, Texas died on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in McKinney, Texas. She was born on November 27, 1912 in Gober to J. J. and Alma Carrie Tarver Smith. She married J. T. Woodson on February 14, 1937 in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Woodson was a member of the First Christian Church and a former school teacher at Gober and 3P. She retired from teaching after she married, because at the time female teachers were required to be single. Never a person was turned away from her door. She was never too busy to stop and listen to your problems or to rejoice with you in your joy. If you were hungry, she fed you. If you were unhappy she cheered you up. One hundred years was too soon to lose her.

Annie Faye is survived by her daughter Caribeth Sutherland of Gober, Texas, son Larry Woodson and wife Mary of Van Alstyne, Texas, grandsons Tommy Sutherland, Timmy Sutherland, Tony Sutherland, J .T. Woodson, and Jess Woodson, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and sister Alene Brent

She is preceded in death by her husband J. T. Woodson, parents, three sisters, and three brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Gober with Brother Kevin Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Gober Cemetery with Mrs. Woodson’s grandsons serving as pallbearers.
