September 21, 1929 – March 24, 2016 Dry,
Bennie O. Dry age 86 of Dallas, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home. Bennie was born on September 21, 1929 in Mannsville, Oklahoma to Johnnie Thomas Dry and Jessie Eliza Brown Dry. He married Melba Jean Blankenship on July 9, 1947 in Marietta, Oklahoma.
Mr. Dry was a member of Cockrell Hill Baptist Church, and retired as a Plant Manager for Proko Paint Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Eula Mae Scott and four brothers; Troy Dry, Allen Dry, Elbert Dry and Jack Dry.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Melba Dry, daughter Linda Peacock and husband Larry of Arlington, son Gary Dry and wife Hazel of Grand Prairie; grandchildren Robert Peacock of Lillian, Dawn Hargrove and husband Bryan of Midlothian, Bryan Peacock of Lillian, Julie Dunaway Grand Prairie, Kim McCoy and husband Landon of Arlington, and Keith Dry of Arlington; great-grandchildren Dawn Peacock, Hayden Hargrove, Allyson Hargrove, Hillary Abney, Phillip Tidwell, Cayden Dunaway, Lexie Brewer, Rylee McCoy, and Austyn Brooke McCoy; four sisters Lorene Phillips of Holiday, Annie Jackson of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Melba Price of Hurst, and Kathleen Pollard of Ardmore, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Eva Wilcox of Rockwall and Carolyn Thompson and husband Brent of Little Rock, Arkansas, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Tim Hearn officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 12:30 P.M.
Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Robert Peacock, Bryan Peacock, Keith Dry, Rick Wilcox, Landon McCoy, Bryan Hargrove, Brent Thompson, and Garland Edelhauser serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George Chavez, Jerry Price, Louie B. Robinson and Gary Smotherman.
