September 25, 1925 –  June 24, 2014 Williams,
Billy Jack Williams age 88 of Mesquite, Texas died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. He was born on September 25, 1925 in Wolfe City, Texas to Hugh D. and Cora Estelee Davis Williams. He married Avis Maurine Rush on July 4, 1947 at the First Baptist Church of Wolfe City.

Mr. Williams was a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Mesquite and he served in the US Navy during World War II serving in the Pacific Campaign. Billy retired from George A. Hormel Company after 32 and ½ years of faithful service. He loved spending time with his family and friends and going to church. He enjoyed gardening, bailing hay, caring for his cattle, especially Brutus and kept his yard immaculate until failing health.

He is survived by wife of 66 years Avis Williams the love of his life. Daughters, Barbara May and husband Dr. Larry May of Burnet, and Janet Belcher and husband Gary Belcher of Ft. Worth, grandchildren: Steffani and husband Dr. Roger Allen of Hideaway, Jennifer Capehart of Mesquite, Joetta and husband Daniel Bryant of Dallas, Cerrie and husband Dr. Matt Bradshaw of Waco, Jason and wife Sandy Belcher of Haslet, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Billy is preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Cruse, and his parents Hugh & Estelee Williams, 2 Brothers and 5 Sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Parkside Baptist Church in Mesquite with Dr. Mike Wells and Dr. Larry May officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the service.

Interment will take place at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Fred Stead, Bill Kizziar, Joseph Wesolowski, Jeff Swetman, Dale Cavanaugh, and Travis You serving as pallbearers.
