February 7, 1926 –  August 14, 2015 Julian,
Billy Joe Julian age 89 of Fairlie, Texas passed away and entered in the arms of his Savior on Friday, August 14, 2015 in Greenville. He was born on February 7, 1926 in Josephine, Texas to Jesse Lee and Mable Lacy Julian. He married Peggy Ann King on July 10, 1948 in Greenville, Texas and shared 65 wonderful years together.

Mr. Julian was a faithful member and Deacon of Fairlie Baptist Church. He retired after more than 32 years as an educator fulfilling his life’s passion while investing himself in the children and families of the communities he served. He spent 28 years with Campbell ISD as a Teacher and Superintendent. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class. Billy embraced each day with a joyful servant’s heart.

Mr. Julian is survived by his four daughters Nancy Urbani and husband Richard of McKinney, Paula Julian of Dallas, Betsy Magness of Forney, and Tricia Van Loh and husband Larry of Grapevine. He was also a proud grandfather of Jodi Connolly and husband Steve, Jill Duff and husband Brad, Lindsey Burton and husband Matt, Charlie and Kate Magness, Taylor and Luke Markey, seven great-grandchildren Jack and Julia Connolly, Shelby Duff, Anna Claire Scherler, Barrett Duff, Cole and Hattie Burton. He is also survived by six siblings Jerrel Julian, Doris Snider, Jean Fortenbury, Marita Wilson, Nelda Barker, and Veta Givens. Billy also cherished an abundance of extended family and adored friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Peggy Ann Julian in 2009; three brothers Ted Julian, Ray Julian and Clifton Julian.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie with Benny Chaffin and Pastor Josh Nichols officiating. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary one hour prior to the start of the service. Graveside services will follow at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie. Pallbearers are Steve Connolly, Charlie Magness, Matt Burton, Brad Duff, Frank Julian, Richard Urbani, Tom Prichard, and Larry Van Loh. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Baber, Ronnie White, Second McQueary, Larry Throgmorton, John McKibben, and Joe Decker. Military Honors will be provided by the Hunt County Veterans Honor Guard.
