December 19, 1932 –  May 9, 2012 Carol Leon Stroud, 79, of Wolfe City, died May 9, 2012, at Texoma Medical Center of Denison. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Bro. Monte Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home.Pallbearers are Cary Mashburn, Tommy Jones, Valton Ticer, Mark Malone, Larry Wise and Larry Reynolds. Son of Joseph Franklin and Robert James Samuels Stroud, he was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Wolfe City. He married Verna Lorene Murdock on Dec. 25, 1952, in Wolfe City. Mr. Stroud served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a printer for Ennis Tag and Label, retiring with 42 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife of Wolfe City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia Ticer of Wolfe City, Marilyn Henderson and husband Butch of Leonard and Crystal Helms and husband Donald of Wolfe City; a son, Kirk Stroud of Lindale; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
