September 22, 1919 –  December 22, 2010 Chief Ashley Warden, 91, of Wolfe City died Dec. 22, 2010, in Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Glenn Vickers and Rev. Wally Chappell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Warden was born Sept. 22, 1919, in McKinney to Hezekiah and Margaret Eskew Warden. On May 28, 1944, he married Betty Jane Branton in Cisco. He was a retired Methodist minister, and a member of Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Beth Caywood and husband Stan of Wolfe City; son, Gary Warden of Irving; two granddaughters, Courtney Caywood Allen and husband Blake of Wolfe City and Heather Caywood Hamilton and husband James of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Caylie Hamilton, James Ray “Trey” Hamilton, Caigen Allen and Brinlee Allen; one brother, J.B. Warden of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in August 2010; his parents, and 14 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Stan Caywood, Richard Huie, Jim Bradshaw, James Hamilton, Blake Allen, Will Hansford and John Brent Harber. Honorary pallbearer is Don Murdoch.
