Curtis “Beck” Lee McVay, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Hunt Regional Hospital in Greenville. He was born to Charley and Vena Lee McVay October 18, 1929 in Rains County. He married Doris “Joy” Moore December 18, 1959 in the old Garrett Family Home Hopkins County.
He worked for Hunt County maintaining our roads for residents and visitors. He also was a member of the Wolfe City Riding Club and volunteered his time with the Wolfe City Junior and Senior rodeos for many years. Curtis was a huge sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys who he cheered for them to win each season. He and his wife attended all of the sports events for Wolfe City Students that they could.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, parents, Charley McVay and Vena McVay Miller, brother, Joe McVay and sister Buna Carter.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Owens Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Clifton Cemetery near Emory in Rains County.
