Danny Joe “Pops” Davenport age 59 of Ladonia, Texas died at his home with his loving family at his side. Pops as he was better known by his family and friends was born on May 24, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kenneth Fields and Sue Nichols. He married his high school sweetheart Donna Jo Hulsey on October 16, 1973 in San Angelo, Texas.

Pops was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ladonia. He worked as a Repairman for GTE for 14 years in the surrounding area. Later he worked as a Chevy Front End Specialist at several local GM dealerships.

Survivors are his wife of 40 years Donna Jo Davenport of Ladonia, son Jarrod Davenport and wife Brandi of Ladonia, three grandchildren Dalton, Kailyn, and Austin, step mom Brenda Fields, brother Mike Fields, aunt Sharilin Duncan Hodges, cousin Tinalin Marshall, and several nieces and nephews and special family friends Diane and Mel Thomas and family.

Pops is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, brother Keith and sister Jeanette.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Ladonia with Brother David Howard officiating. Interment will follow at the Ladonia Cemetery with Jim Crofford, James Thomas, Matt Thomas, Jevin Burrows, Jon McDonald, and Kevin Fisk serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will Cary Sansing and Nathan Sanders

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M.
