Dorothy Nell Parsons Ray age 86, died on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Medical Center of Plano. She was born on March 7, 1928 in Wolfe City, Texas to Nellie Mae and Elbert Eugene Parsons. She married James Scott Ray on October 27, 1945 in Rockwall, Texas. She was a long time member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church and a homemaker most of her life.

She is survived by two daughters; Donna Kay Malone of Greenville, Texas Brenda Michaels and husband Pat of Bloomington, Illinois, one sister Vera Samuel and husband Fred of Greenville, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Her husband one son and four brothers preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. till 2:00 P.M. at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Brother Bob Layman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Ronny Chapman, Jon Michaels, Ron Bader, Robert Parsons, Stanley Shipp, and Randy Stephens serving as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Dr. Rife’s Animal Rescue or Southwestern Medical Institution Pulmonary Fibrosis Research.
