Edgar Wayne Morgan passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on January 30, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Wolfe City, Texas on October 18, 1936, Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Morgan and Vivian Stephens Morgan, his siblings, James Daniel Morgan and Orpha Morgan Crain, and his beloved wife, LaWanna Morgan.
Wayne’s memory lives on through his surviving family: his brother, Bill Morgan; his children, Sherri Morgan, Tina Morgan Freeman and husband Troy, and Mark Morgan and wife Christy; his grandchildren, Brittany Meier, Sheena Salazar, Ashley Carter, and Nicholas Rojas; nieces and nephews, as well as numerous great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
Wayne had a deep passion for music, often found playing his guitar and fiddle or simply enjoying the melodies of his favorite tunes. His love for music was only surpassed by his incredible talent for solving problems— he was a consummate tinkerer and problem solver at heart.
His warmth, wisdom, and musical spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Wayne’s legacy of love and music will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
A Visitation will be held at RW Owens Funeral home on Wednesday February 5, 2025 from 11:00AM-12:00PM. The graveside service will follow at 12:30PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas.
The Morgan’s are dear friends and like Family to us. Wayne & I graduated from high school together in 1954 and the last time we saw him was at Dub’s (my husband) 80th birthday celebration, ten years ago. We spoke last, when his beloved sister passed away last year. He will always be missed and always be loved. May God comfort his Family during this sad, sad time.
