August 25, 1915 –  January 20, 2014 Long,
Boyd Long age 98 of Wolfe City, Texas died on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Overton Healthcare Center in Overton. He was born on August 25, 1915 in Miller Grove, Texas to Felix and Mary Purden Long. He Married Vera M. Bridges in Brashear on March 18, 1936.

Mr. Long was of the Baptist Faith and was a long time Auto Mechanic in Bonham, Commerce, Sulphur Springs and Wolfe City. He was an avid fiddle player, playing with his nephews and friends at area nursing home and senior dances.

He is survived by three nephews Dennis Long of Arkansas, Kenneth Long of Arlington, and Billy Long of Wolfe City.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years Vera Long, his parents, three nieces Ina Compton, Betty Franks, and Nell Bartley.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. at the Miller Grove Cemetery in Miller Grove, Texas with Brother Tim Hearn officiating.
