Ethel Alyne Dever, 93, of Celeste died at her home Sept. 14, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Celeste with Rev. James Ralston and Rev. Jim Sherwin officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.

She was born Oct. 8, 1918, in the rural Maxey Hall community of Celeste to Samuel Melvin and Nellie Elvira Green Vanhoozer.

She worked in retail sales and was a member of First Baptist Church in Celeste.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Smith of Euless and Patricia Davis of Celeste; two sons, Larry Dever and wife Clara of Anthony, Fla., and Danny Dever and wife Baid of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thomas Dever; her parents; one brother and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Chad, Jody, Ryan, Jeremy, Jeff and Larry
