Frances Marie Davis, age 90, passed away July 23, 2020 in her home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Alvie and Ester Lambe Ricketts September 11, 1929 in Greenville.
Frances moved to Wolfe City in tenth grade and graduated from Wolfe City High School. She married Howard Dewey Davis December 21, 1947. She and Howard shared a long life, raising three sons, Timmy, Steve and Michael, during their time together.
Frances worked as a supervisor at Henington’s in Wolfe City for many years then she became an assistant vice president at the bank until she retired. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, gardening and cooking, but she really enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her grandchildren.
Frances is survived by her two sons: Timmy and wife Mollie Davis of Wolfe City, and Steve and wife Beckie Davis of Wolfe City. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Heath and wife Shannon Davis, Jackie and husband Blake Lankford, Johnny and wife Sharon Mooney, Boly and wife Catherine Mooney, Nicole and husband Tim Mitchell, Morgan and husband Justin Hargrove, Craig Davis, Jamie and husband Todd Humbarger, Diana and husband Rickey Hester, Jennifer Reed, Jill and husband Brandon Woodruff, Jake and wife Alissa Davis, numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, She is also survived by her brother Jimmy and wife Mary Louise Ricketts, and sister-in-law Ronda Ricketts. The family would like to share their appreciation for the caring staff members from American Best Care Hospice: Christina Jones and, Wanda Goodman, and her weekend caregiver Cristina Leyva.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 siblings: Betty Jones and Richard Ricketts, son Michael Davis, and great-grandchild Leddy Davis.
The funeral service will be conducted by Brother Tim Hearn, Monday, July 27, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. with visitation starting at 1:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Brandon Woodruff, Jake Davis, Rickey Hester, David Lillard, Derek Sheets, Todd Humbarger, Blake Lankford, Boly Mooney and John Mooney.
