Gwendolyn Louise Thomas, age 92, passed away at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville, Saturday, July 15, 2017. She was born in Pecan Gap on June 10, 1925 to John Eber and Alice Edna Banker Combs. She was a member of Oak Ridge Church of Christ.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Sandlin and husband Ronnie of Winnsboro, sons Dennis Thomas and wife Judy of Dallas, and Douglas Thomas and wife Jamie of Wolfe City, grandchildren: Sherry Chaney of Tomball, Scott Sandlin of League City, Courtney Trunks and husband Chris of Allen, Drew Thomas and wife Ravish of Cooper, Emily Wood of Wolfe City, and Amie Wood Self and husband Mitch also of Wolfe City, great-grandchildren: Cody Dawson and wife Taylor of Trenton, Kasie Robinson and husband Steven of Copperas Cove, Miranda Sandlin of Houston, Hannah Sandlin of League City, Jadyn Lewis and Carder Lewis of Allen, Macie and Andrea Self of Wolfe City, Sydney and Hayley Trunks of Allen, and great-great-grandchildren Avery and Macie Robinson, Leigha, and Luke Dawson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and an infant daughter Sylvia, by her granddaughter: Julie Thomas and husband E.E. (Bill) Thomas.

Pallbearers are Drew Thomas, Cody Dawson, Kim Burden, Brad Burden, Buddy Burden, Trey Bailey, and Justin Cunningham.

The funeral service will be held at Owens Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Cary Kinnaird will conduct the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Owens Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Pecan Gap Cemetery in Pecan Gap.
