Jackie Glenn Turney age 66 of Wolfe City died at his home on Monday, March 26, 2012. He was born on August 29, 1945 in Wolfe City, Texas to Venna Mae & James Earl Turney. Jackie married Marleta Ruth Wilcher on March 11, 1966 in Wolfe City. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Aberfoyle Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Ruth Turney, daughter Jacqueline Marie Turney of Arlington, Lisa Ann Church of Grand Prairie, son Ronnie Glen Turney and wife Stephanie of Grand Prairie, six grandchildren, Matthew Aaron Turney, Samantha LeeAnn Cates Grubbs and husband Justin, Donnita Tiffee and husband Chad and McKenzie Turney, Donnie Church and wife Natalie and Chasity Escobar, and six great-grandchildren. Two sisters, LaVerne Causey and husband Kenneth, Virginia Turney Smith and husband Rusty, and brother David Turney. His parents and stepmother Ruth, one brother Billy Turney, and son-in-law Don Church precede him in death.

A funeral service is planned for Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church Wolfe City with Rev. Kerry Meader officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Allen Malone, Donnie Church, Tommy Grandfield, Bill George, Bryan George, and Kelley Turney serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
