James Lewis Hoffard age 76 of Wolfe City, Texas passed away on December 25, 2015 at Park Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. He was born on August 20, 1939 in Wylie, Texas to Lewis Uluas and Florence Hatcher Hoffard. He married Barbara Jean Huffman on September 26, 1959 in Wylie.

James was of the Baptist Faith and worked for the North Texas Municipal Water District for many years. He also was a Welder and built fence in the area. James enjoyed wild hog trapping and spending time visiting with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara Hoffard, five sisters; JoAnn Miller and husband Roy Don of McKinney, Lula Cave and husband Jim of Princton, Virginia Samford and husband Norman of Mexia, Sue Mims and husband Ronnie of San Antonio, Linda Cox and husband Mike of North Richland Hills, 10 nieces and nephews and brother-in-law James Huffman of Wolfe City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.

Visitation will be Monday, December 28 from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Ronnie Hickey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
