May 1, 1917 –  December 26, 2011 James Wilson Whaley, age 94 of Rowlett, Texas died on December 26, 2011 at his home. He was born in Morgan, Texas to James D. Whaley and Fannie Agnes Cooper Whaley. He married Dimple Loucill Duncan on December 24, 1936 in Greenville, Texas and she precedes him in death. Mr. Whaley served in the U.S. Army during WW II and retired from Oriental Gasket Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rowlett. He is survived by three daughters Shirley Davis, Joanne Raney, and Brenda Whaley; son Gary Whaley, sister Bertha Maddox, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five great great children, and many nieces and nephews. His wife, both parents, and granddaughter Karen Davis precede him in death. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas with Brother Steve Leatherwood officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas with Ace Raney, Zeke Raney, Lance Raney, Chris Pierce, Cody Whaley, and Brad Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbears will be Jake Moore and Joe Moore.
