Johnny James Hagler passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, in Denison, Texas at the age of 98. He was born on October 13, 1925, in Greenville, Texas to parents, Charles Hagler and Ethel (Moroney) Hagler.

John married Margaret Elizabeth (Mitchell)  and together they had 3 children, Butch, Sharon and Randy.  

John later married Ruby Dodson and with Ruby came her 3 children, Linda, Jim and Paul.  

John James Hagler is survived by his son Butch Hagler of Pottsboro, Texas, stepchildren: Linda Maloney and her husband Russell, Jim Dodson and his wife Anna, and Paul Dodson and his wife Brenda. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and life-long friend Priscilla McMurry.  

John is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ethel Hagler, his first wife Margaret Hagler, second wife Ruby Dodson. Preceding him in death are his two children, Sharon St. John and Randy Hagler. 

A visitation will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1:00pm with the Graveside service starting at 2:00pm. Burial to follow the graveside service.

There will be a celebration of life Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at VFW post 7873 on Lake Texoma at 250 Vfw Dr, Pottsboro, TX 75076, the phone number (903) 786-2400.  Lunch will be provided.
