Mamie Johnston, age 91, passed away at Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Bonham. She was born to Dee and Leona Green Ivey in Bonham August 27, 1932.
Mamie enjoyed raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and crafts.
Mamie is survived by her daughters: El Mena Graham, Leona Todd, Kelley Althouse, and Crystal Shafer, and her sister Helen Maupin. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Bryan Brandon, Candice Barker, Garrett Todd, Chelsea Westbrook. Lauren Williams, Regan Morris and Dalton White and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Jim Barker, great-grandson: Landon Morris, parents, sister Margaret Nichols and brother Jackie Ivey.
Mamie was my parents neighbor and friend. My Mom loved her very much. She was very proud of her family.
I was so sorry to hear about Mamie Jo’s passing. She was a sweet and likeable person. She will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear about Maime Jo’s passing. Gran Gran was the best! My children loved having Gran Gran babysit when they were little. She loved them like they were her own. She will be missed by so many.
What a precious lady! She was a dear friend of my mom and they enjoyed spending time together in the nursing home. She will be greatly missed.
