January 1, 1922 –  August 14, 2014 GUNN,
MARY FRANCES SMITH GUNN passed away on August 14, 2014 in Angleton TX. She was born in Grand Prairie, TX. to Felen E. and Ollie Cunningham Smith on January 1, 1922. She had seven siblings and was the last remaining.

Mary moved with her parents to Wolfe City when she was a child. There she met Hollis Gunn and they were married on June 6, 1942. They moved to Garland, TX and reared their family there. After Hollis retired, they moved back to Wolfe City and later to Angleton to be near their family.

Hollis and Mary were members of Emanuel Baptist Church in Greenville. They enjoyed participating in church activities until their health declined.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hollis, daughter Hollie, seven siblings Ruby Stringer, Grace Smith, Flossie Newell, Velma Proffitt, Christine Williams, Roy Smith and Jessie Williams. She is survived by her daughter Virginia Commons and husband Mike; grandson Brian Commons; granddaughter Crystal Gibson and husband Justin; three great-grandchildren Madison, Sydney and Justus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10:00 a. m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3103 Terrell Road, Greenville, TX.
