January 13, 1948 – August 29, 2015 Burrow,
Michael Lambert Burrow, 67, passed away Saturday, August 29th in his home surrounded by family, friends and his treasured pet, Sasha. In his typical fashion, he fought valiantly against lung cancer for fourteen months.
He was born January 13, 1948 in Commerce, TX to John Houston “Jack” Burrow and Annie Loretha Mullins Burrow. He was raised in Wolfe City, Texas and attended Grayson County Community College on a basketball scholarship. After graduating from East Texas State University, he worked many years in the insurance industry. He was most recently employed by Texas Farm Bureau in Greenville.
He had three daughters for whom he enjoyed coaching years of sports. Mike had a passion for country music and loved to play golf.
He married Cynthia O’Pry Blythe on May 13, 2003 in Wolfe City. They reconnected at a Wolfe City High School reunion and were inseparable ever since. Mike and Cynthia both loved sports and enjoyed watching all types of sporting events together. They were members of Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville.
Mike is survived by his wife of 12 years Cynthia Barrow three daughters. Amy and her husband, Brian Devlin, of Frisco, Mitzi and her husband, Jeff Miller, of Frisco, and Allison Burrow of McKinney. Stepdaughters were Shawn Hester and husband, James, of Oklahoma City, Stacy Brierton of Oklahoma City and Tessa McClellan of Oklahoma City. He had 11 grandchildren and one great grandson and greatly missed by his beloved dog Sasha.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12th at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville, TX. Visitation is at 1:00pm followed by the service at 2:00pm. Arrangements are being handled by Owens Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas.
