November 17, 1935 –  March 21, 2017 Myra Cozette Nivens, age 81, of Commerce passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Legend Healthcare in Greenville. She was born to Bill and Viola Cain Wasson November 17, 1935. She married Don Nivens January 27, 1957 in Childress Texas.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and she ran Bewley’s 5 & 10 store in downtown Commerce for many years. She enjoyed going to the beauty parlor to visit with her friends and have her hair fixed. She was a Baptist.

Cozette is survived by her daughters Donna Helton, Lani Miller, and Leesa Cannon, grandchildren Brandi Walker and husband Derren, Chris Miles and Wife Leann, Kerry Miller and wife Nicole, Brett Miller and girlfriend Stacey, Melissa Millies and husband Bob, Shane Cannon, Carrie Reed and husband Randall, and Crystal Cannon, great-grandchildren: Shyla Williams, Deriyah and Braxton Walker, Jaden, Raygan, Miles, Tawnee, Thomas, and Adrian Miller, Kyler Zarate, Roy Gaffney Jr., and Keerlynne Reed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Billy John Wasson, son Lindy Nivens, and grandson R. J. Cannon.

The graveside service will be conducted by Donna Robnett at 2:00 P.M. Thursday March 23, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.
