October 2, 1916 –  May 24, 2014 Johnson,
Norma Jane (Hall) Johnson, 97, passed away on May 24, 2014, in Rowlett, Texas. She was born October 2, 1916, in Matador, Texas, to Claude V. and Ethel Alston Hall. She married Graham M. Johnson on June 4, 1938 in Commerce. Norma was a long-time resident of Commerce, where she was actively involved in various community organizations for many years. She held Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from East Texas State College, now Texas A&M University at Commerce.

She is survived by two daughters: Claudia Nell Coburn and her husband, Robert Coburn, of Rockwall, Texas; and Ethel Jean Wood of Germantown, New York; a daughter-in-law, Amelia Johnson, of Pharr, Texas; six grandchildren: Michelle Denise Mokszycki of Mesquite, Texas; Larry Austin Thomas and his wife, Dolly, of Plano, Texas; Stayton A. Wood III and his wife, Janine, of Littleton, Colorado; Katherine Tucker Wood and her husband, David Sprouls, of New York, New York; Andrew Graham Wood, and his wife, Stephanie Sutton, of Grand Canyon, Arizona; and Robert Johnson, Jr., of Pharr, Texas; six great-grandchildren: Allison Elizabeth, Emily Paige, and Sarah Brook Wisdom of Mesquite, Texas; Jordan Austin Thomas of Plano, Texas; Patrick Graham Sprouls of New York, New York; and Adeline Marie Wood, of Littleton, Colorado.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Graham Madden Johnson, a professor and dean at the college, and her son, Robert Allen Johnson, of Pharr, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 28. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
