Otha D. “O.D.” Goin Jr. age 81 of Garland, Texas died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at his home. He was born on June 28, 1930 in Wolfe City, Texas to Hazel Hooper Goin and Otha D. Goin Sr. He married Marty Cowgill-Cornett in New Boston, Texas and she survives. Mr. Goin was a CPA for many years and was of the Protestant Faith. He proudly served in the United States Army. His is survived by his wife Marty Goin of Garland; daughters Shellie Osten and husband Steve of Greenville, Angela Goin of Dallas, two sons Kenneth Goin and wife Penny of Greenville, David Goin and wife Julie of Carrollton; sister Kathlyne Lucian of Santa Barbara, California, four grand daughters; Sharee, Jessica, Heather, and Emilie. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Billy Goin.

A funeral service will be held at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Linus Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Nevada Cemetery, with David Goin, David Cornett, Kenneth Goin, Steve Osten, Lance Bernard, and Doug Browning serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 5:00 till 7:00 P.M. at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home.
