Robert Warner Ridge, age 90, passed away in McKinney, Texas on January 11, 2024. He was born to Robert Parry Ridge and Clara Mae (Wilson) Ridge in Haworth, Oklahoma on July 24, 1933.  He served as a Marine in the Korean War and after returning, he married Valla Jean (Wilburn) in Dallas, Texas on March 9, 1957. Together they had 5 children.

Robert was a loving husband, and father. He was a Barber and owned his own shop in Dallas, TX for 40 years.  He also worked closely with Valla selling insurance together.   Robert was also a Music Director for 12 years at Rogers Baptist Church in Garland, TX and he would later attend Believers Chapel in Dallas for 20 + years.  After moving to McKinney, TX., Robert attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church McKinney, TX.

Robert is survived by his 4 children, James Perry Ridge, Joel Dale Ridge, Timothy Allen Ridge, and Dana Jean (Ridge) Weeden and her husband David, Bobby’s wife Toni Ridge.  His grandchildren: Michael, Courtney, Cody, Tyler, and Matthew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Parry Ridge, and Clara Mae (Wilson) Ridge, his loving wife of 61 years, Valla Jean (Wilburn) Ridge, their son, Robert (Bobby) Warner Ridge III, and his siblings, Lowell Ridge, Melba Walls, Bill Ridge, Wilma Jean Foster, Morris Ridge, and Peggy Trenkelbach and three foster children, J.T. Stinson, Lois Morris, and Evelyn Jackson.

Services will be officiated by Dr. Jordan Stone. The funeral service will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery Chapel in Wolfe City, Texas at 1;00 P.M. on Friday, January 19, 2024. Burial to follow the service at the cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Farmersville Fire Department, Collin County EMT, Baylor Scott and White McKinney ER, ICU and PCU staff, Lexington Medical Rehab Center and Owens Funeral Home for their kindness and care.
