February 16, 1937 –  February 3, 2014 Thurman,
Roy Neal Thurman age 76 of Seagoville, Texas died at his home on Monday, February 3, 2014 with his family at his side. Neal as he was better known by his family and friends was born on February 8, 1937 in the Hickory Creek Community in Hunt County, Texas to D. C. & Maggie M. Stephens Thurman. He married Betty Jean Bennett on June 22, 1956 in Hickory Creek.

Neal was a member of Point View Baptist Church in Combine, Texas and was known for his skills as a Carpenter. He worked at Dallas Baptist University for many years in the Maintenance Department, primarily building cabinets. He also served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty Jean Thurman, son Terry Lynn Thurman of Dallas, two sisters Rose Mary Montgomery and Debra Kay Thurman both of Greenville, and brother Don Thurman of Celeste. He is preceded in death by both parents,

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:00 A. M. at Point View Baptist Church in Combine with Bro. Mike Allcorn officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 P. M. at R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Wolfe City on Thursday, February 6, 2014. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Bobby Bennett, David Bennett, Lee Roy Bennett, and William Potter will serve as pallbearers.
