October 1, 1921 –  November 28, 2013 Marshall,
Sam Wills Marshall, Jr., age, 92 of Wolfe City, Texas died at his home on Thursday, November 28, 2013. He was born in 1921 to Sam W. and Gladys M. Weeks Marshall in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married Mary Ann Sonnier on January 21, 1966 in Mesquite, Texas.

Mr. Marshall was of the Catholic Faith and served in the United States Army Air Corps for 12 years during WWII and Korea. During his enlistment he was stationed in Japan and England. He was an avid reader and was a frequent visitor at the Wolfe City Public Library. Sam took great pride in his family and being able to aide his love ones with their needs.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Ann Marshall of Wolfe City; son, Steve Johnson and wife Stephanie of Greenville; granddaughter Carmen Johnson of Greenville; two sisters Mary Jobe of Wolfe City, and Barbara “Bobbie” Sparks of Hope, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister; Clara Jo Kennedy, three brothers; Robert E. Lee “Sonny”, Billy, and Jack Marshall.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Wolfe City from 6:00 till 8:00 P. M.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 2, 2013 at 1:00 at R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Robert Marshall, Jeff Marshall, Doug Gagnon, Devon Jobe, Cory Peel, and Darrell Sparks serving as pallbearers.

Military Honors will be provided by the Sheppard Air Force Base Honor Guard and the Hunt County Veterans Honor Guard.
